Executive Director for Chikulamayembe women forum Tiwonge Gondwe has urged women in Rumphi district to have multiple income streams to be financially independent.
Speaking to Rumphi FM today at Josi hall, in commemoration of international women’s Day under the theme “For all women and Girls: Rights Equality Empowerment””women are a pillar of the family when you bring them together they share ideas and get motivated” Gondwe said gondwe further said when woman are economically empowered it reduces chances of gender based violence.
According to District Education Manager for Mzimba North Jessie Kapombe guest of honor has encouraged women not to look down upon themselves saying what men can do women can also do.
One of the entrepreneur’s Ras Mhango thanked Chikulamayembe women forum for organizing the event for women to interact and encourage one another.
The function was organized by Chikulamayembe women forum with financial support from Action Aid Malawi.
