The fourth round of the oral polio vaccination campaign is currently underway in in Rumphi District. The campaign is targeting all children aged 10 years and below.
Speaking to Rumphi FM, parent representative Eunice Zgambo welcomed the initiative, saying the vaccines will help protect children from the disease. She has encouraged parents to allow their children to receive the vaccine.
Meanwhile, Alice Silabwe Chiweza, who is supervising the vaccination exercise in the Mlongoti area, said the round is meant to strengthen children’s protection against polio.Chiweza added that the campaign is progressing well, revealing that by midday, more than 200 children had already been vaccinated in the area.
She thanked parents for their cooperation.The oral polio vaccination campaign will run from Tuesday to Friday 14th August 2026.
